Following some mixed weather resulting in a very disrupted schedule for the bikes, Macau rules state no bike activity in the wet, qualifying and racing eventually got underway a full 24hrs late, on sunday 20th november. Having qualified in 8th, jimmy finished the race in an impressive 7th position, one place behind previous Macau winner John McGuinness and ahead of Bruce Anstey and the Dunlop brothers.

The race was eventually won by Michael Rutter, taking his 7th Macau win and setting a new record for outright wins, a record he had shared with Ron Haslam until Sunday. Sadly this may be a record which may now stand till the ends of time as the future of the bikes at Macau now hangs in the balance following fall out between organisers.
